A passion for all things creative. My love affair with the graphic arts began over 20 years ago as an art student newly introduced to the commercial side of the business. I went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design from The University of Maryland, Baltimore County, during which time I interned with several companies to gain real-world experience.
After graduation, I landed a full-time position as a graphic designer for a small firm that specialized in print and multimedia design. Over the course of 3 years, I learned the ins and outs of print design, development and management, growing my skill set in the area of marketing and design through solid concept development, project planning and implementation. The variety of work was always a welcomed challenge and industries served included non-profit, corporate, education and health care.
Presented with a new opportunity to head the design department for a marketing and printing firm, I moved into a fast-paced environment in which meeting deadlines, while maintaining professional and creative integrity were daily goals. My marketing and management expertise extended to a variety of industries including, but not limited to, real estate, health care, education, small business and federal & local government. Projects included annual reports, banners, brochures, newsletters, corporate identity packages, direct mailers, fleet graphics, print ads, tradeshow exhibits, promotional products and more.
As life would have it, I returned, as Art Director, to the company with which I began my career. I continue to apply outstanding creative, planning, organizational and analytical skills in the production of graphic material for use in branding, advertising, marketing, and product and service promotion, ensuring adherence to visual standards. As a dedicated team member, I remain focused on clients needs while providing creative direction and development of marketing and promotional materials. Accurate, high quality work and staying on budget are daily goals.
As a freelance designer, I have designed, produced, art directed and managed projects for the Capital Region Minority Supplier Development Council, Associated Black Charities, ACLU Maryland, Mayor’s Office of Minority and Women-Owned Business Development, The Pinder Group, greiBO Media and aha! Advertising in a variety of applications including brochures, event graphics, direct mailers, media kits, email blast graphics, website design, advertisements, newsletters, programs, project reports, posters and more.
